ತುಮಕೂರಿನ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯೆಂದರೆ "ದೇವರಾಯನದುರ್ಗ ಅರಣ್ಯ". ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಸತತ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದ ಇಡೀ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಹಸಿರಿನಿಂದ ನಳನಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬೋಳು ಬೋಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಹಸಿರು-ಹಸಿರಾಗಿ ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹಸಿರಸಿರಿಯನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಿಬರೋಣವೆಂದು ಇಂದು (ದಿ. 01-07-2024) ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನಾನಂತರ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ಆರ್. ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥನ್ ಬೈಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದೆವು. ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಹಿಂಬದಿ ಬಂಡೆಯೊಂದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತಾಗ ಕಂಡ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಮೈಮರೆಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಇಡೀ ಸಾಲು-ಸಾಲು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳೇ ಹಸಿರು ಹೊದಿಕೆ ಹೊದ್ದಂತೆ ಹಸಿರ ಸಿರಿ ನಲಿದಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

The pride of Tumkur is "Devarayanadurga Forest". Due to the recent continuous rains, the entire forest area is green. All the bald hills are turning green. R. Viswanathan and I went on a bike in the afternoon today (01-07-2024) to see Green atmosphere.. Sitting on a rock at the back of the hill below, the scene was mesmerizing. Entire rows of hills looked like they were covered with green.
